Biography:
I am a specialist teacher working with deaf children across schools and early years settings in Derby city. I have more than 10 years experience as a governor both in primary and secondary settings, and feel privileged to have taken on the role of vice chair at St Chad’s. It is a school with an ethos closely aligned to my own and will be using my skills, particularly as a SEND specialist, to support the school.

Biography: 

I am an educational professional with over 30 years of experience supporting English as an Additional Language (EAL) / New Communities’ children and families in Derby. Currently, I am a team manager of New Communities Achievement Team (NCAT), the Derby City Council’s service specialised in supporting integration of EAL New Arrival children in local schools. I have over 10 years of experience as a school governor / Local Trust Committee member (LTC) at number of primary and secondary schools in Derby. I strongly believe that every child deserves access to high-quality education and am excited to work with the other LTC colleagues to ensure that St Chad's Church of England (Cont.) Nursery and Infant School continues to provide a supportive and enriching learning environment where all pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Ms K Leach (Co-Headteacher)     

Biography:

I was appointed Head teacher at St Chad's in September 2017.  Previous to this I was Assistant Headteacher at Hardwick Primary School, responsible for the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, English and MFL. During my career I have been fortunate to teach in the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have worked in two outstanding primary schools in two Local Authorities and I have also taught abroad in France and Belgium. In 2015 I became a Specialist Leader in Education for English and EAL.

Mrs K Morley (Co-Headteacher)     

Biography:

I have worked at St Chad’s since 2014, beginning my career here as a class teacher before taking on leadership roles including Maths, Pupil Premium and EYFS. I have been Co-Headteacher since September 2023. I hold an undergraduate degree in Education Studies with SEND, a PGCE for 5–11 and the NPQH. I have a particular passion for attendance, mathematics and ensuring that every child, whatever their starting point, has the opportunity to thrive. St Chad’s is an incredibly special school to me, and I feel very privileged to have grown alongside the children, families and staff who make our school what it is. I am passionate about our relational approach and our strong sense of community, and about ensuring every child feels safe, loved, valued and able to thrive.

Biography

I have been a teacher at St Chad’s CofE School since 2016 and am proud to be part of the school community. During my time at St Chad’s, I have taken on a number of leadership responsibilities, including leading phonics, computing, collective worship, PE and Sports Premium. These roles have given me valuable experience in supporting school improvement, developing curriculum provision and promoting positive outcomes for all pupils. I hold a BA (Hons) in Primary Early years Education which has provided me with a strong understanding of children’s development and learning. I have also completed a NPQ in Leading Teaching, further developing my knowledge and skills in teaching, learning and educational leadership.
