Knowledge Organisers

Knowledge is like a treasure chest – every new fact, skill and experience helps us understand the world around us.

At St Chad's, we believe that knowledge is the foundation for future learning. Knowledge organisers help children to remember the important facts, vocabulary and concepts that are taught throughout each topic.

Each knowledge organiser contains the key learning that we want children to know and remember. By revisiting this information regularly, children can strengthen their understanding and make connections between new and previous learning.

We encourage families to explore these knowledge organisers together at home. Talking about key vocabulary, asking questions, sharing facts and revisiting learning can help children to build confidence and deepen their understanding.

This page will be updated throughout the year as classes begin new themes and topics. Please check back regularly to access the latest knowledge organisers and support your child's learning journey.

Disciplinary Knowledge Organisers.

Alongside our topic knowledge organisers, children also use disciplinary knowledge organisers.

Whilst topic knowledge organisers contain the key facts, vocabulary and concepts for each theme, disciplinary knowledge organisers help children understand how knowledge is developed within different subjects.

These organisers introduce and revisit the important vocabulary, skills and ways of thinking used by historians, geographers, scientists, artists and designers. They support children in developing a deeper understanding of each subject and help them to talk confidently about their learning.

Disciplinary knowledge organisers are used throughout the year across all themes, enabling children to build their understanding over time and make connections between their learning.
