As a person of faith, I love living and working in this vibrant inner-city community which is such a rich mix of culture, ethnicity and faith.  I have been the Rector of the parish in which St Chad's is a church school since February 2011 and have lived in Normanton since taking up the role of Vicar at St Augustine's Church in May 2003.  During this time, I have been a foundation governor at St Chad's, and have served as Chair of Governors since October 2015.  Before being ordained I worked as a housing manager for the YMCA Housing Association in Sheffield and then in West London.

I have been a governor since September 2017. I have run language school next door to the school for 7 years and wanted a chance to serve the local community by using my skills in English for speakers of another language to help St Chads Infants. I really enjoy engaging with the school and look forward to contributing more in the future.

"St Chads School is an important part of my neighbourhood. I have been a student and a volunteer in the past and now I am a proud parent of a child who attends the same school that I once did. I hope that my experience in running my own businesses in various fields can contribute towards supporting the school to achieve an enriched, happy and healthy learning environment for all."

I took on the role of governor in June 2018 having previously worked alongside the school and seeing how passionate the staff are to educate the children. The school has a real sense of community and pride, of which I wanted to become a part off.  I have been involved working with schools for nearly 10 years, linking in with schools within my professional capacity, ensuring children remain safe both in schools and within the community. I have various links within the community, which can assist both governors, staff and parents.
