Remembrance Service at St Augustines Church

8th November 2018

Dear Parent/Carer,

Next half term, we will be exploring the value ‘compassion’ during our Collective Worship. Children will be leaning about Remembrance Sunday and the significance of the poppy.

We would like to invite you to join us in a special Remembrance Service at St Augustine’s Church on Thursday, 8th November. The service will begin promptly at 2pm and will last for approximately 30 minutes.

This is a time for us to reflect and remember the veterans who fought in the war. This is an opportunity for school and our local church to come together to share our LOVE values. During the service, the children will be sharing art work and poems and our school Chaplain, Reverend Sarah Watson, will share key messages about this important day.

All children will be walking to and from the church. Please can we kindly ask that they wear their school uniform, school shoes and bring a coat with a hood.

If you are free to attend, please can we kindly ask that you arrive at the church, ready for the service to begin at 2pm.

We look forward to welcoming you to this special service.
